Index Hospitality Systems Provides Technology to the Holland Heineken House during Vancouver Winter Olympic Games

The Aloha Enterprise solution and Radiant Systems point-of-sale terminals enable the Dutch community’s ‘home away from home’ to successfully serve more than 120,000 visitors

VUGHT (March 9, 2010) — Index Hospitality Systems today announced that the Aloha Enterprise solution and 35 Radiant Systems P1520 point-of-sale (POS) terminals were able to successfully service athletes, families, friends, sponsors and media in the Holland Heineken House throughout the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.   

Created in 1992 for the Barcelona Winter Olympic Games, the Holland Heineken House is the official home of the Dutch sporting community throughout the Olympics and is hosted by the Dutch Olympic Committee. The Holland Heineken House can host 4,000 to 6,000 people nightly and is home to several foodservice vendors, bars and television viewing areas while also holding nightly musical entertainment and special medal ceremonies for Dutch winners.

Heineken’s mission was to create a completely cashless environment for this event so that guests could load money onto a Heineken credit card to be used to purchase food, beverages and merchandise. Index Hospitality Systems was selected because the Aloha Enterprise solution that they provide through Radiant Systems has the ability to accept the unique payment cards that were created by Magna Carta’s cashless payment system. The Aloha Enterprise solution’s table service and quick service operations applications enabled employees of the Holland Heineken House to quickly and accurately serve more than 120,000 visitors with high levels of customer service. The Aloha applications were used on Radiant P1520 POS terminals, which experienced zero downtime throughout the more than two weeks of constant use, ensuring that foodservice and retail operations were smooth and efficient. Index Hospitality Systems facilitated the deployment of its technology with support from Radiant Systems and Creo’s project management team.
