P1560 & P1760 Point of Sale
Open Platform Highlights
The P1560 and P1760 share the same features and connectivity, but offer different screen sizes. The P1560 package includes a 15” active matrix, color, 1024X768 main display. The P1760 package includes a 17” active matrix, color, 1280x1024 main display. Both offer resistive or capacitive touch screen options. Larger display surface area allows for faster transactions due to less toggling between application screens, more application design flexibility, and better resolution. The high bright, active matrix screen provides the best possible display quality, with excellent contrast and brightness. Additionally, the both provide the very best in retail multimedia, including full motion video. The processor combined with Intel’s GME965 Express Chipset allows for the use of vPro™ technology which provides enhanced security, remote manageability, energy efficiency, and performance. Intel’s vPro™ with Active Management Technology (AMT) helps locate, troubleshoot, and repair POS terminals with a hardware-based communications channel that is independent of the OS. Security and manageability are key features with the P1560/P1760. A new encrypted magnetic card reader (MSR) is standard and will protect against credit card skimming. The countertop enclosure offers a small footprint tilt mount and the wall mounting options provide for maximum flexibility for terminal placement. The unique CableLock™ System provides for ease of installation, controlled access to connectors, concealed cable routing, and cable restraint for better reliability. This all-in-one solution provides very tight integration of core point-of-sale hardware including a touch screen, magnetic stripe reader, and much more. The resistive touch screen provides a very durable, accurate, and fast touch interface even with a gloved hand or stylus. Alternatively, the capacitive touch screen offers a highly durable, accurate, and fast touch interface for applications that do not require gloved or stylus input. The P1560/P1760 also has more powered serial ports than most alternative POS terminals including six RS232, six USB, two dedicated cash drawer ports, and parallel port. This provides expansion capabilities if new devices/peripherals need to be supported without having to buy an add-on expander. Also, the powered serial ports eliminate the need for power bricks, thereby reducing another point of potential failure. Additional port options are available. The retail hardened design offers a high impact enclosure that is built to withstand tough in-store conditions with continuous operation. The P1560/P1760 can be configured as a silent, thin-client, fan-less, solid-state terminal for maximum reliability. Upgradeability and expandability are fundamental to the P1560/P1760 and it offers a field replaceable power supply, RAM, and storage. The expansion slots include two mini-card slots and one PCI express which maximum flexibility to meet additional requirements. High performance, high connectivity, and openness and are the key benefits of the P1560/P1760 point-of-sale.
